Houston, We Have a Problem!

OK. I've got a problem. I cannot find out how to attach her head cap! If any of you have a suggestion, please let me know.

BJD W.I.P.- Day Five

OK! I sanded one of the eyes so that it looks symmetrical. I also removed the white paint that I originally had on her face. I'll show you the original eyes(with the cringe-worthy faceup) vs the new eyes.
MUCH BETTER! :)
You can see the pastel dust in the background. That is because I am attempting a faceup(mainly because her neck + shoulders are drying so I have nothing to work on).

See you in the next update!

Crayon Lipstick!- Week Two

Time for my weekly beauty post! So this week Ive decided to share the recipe that got me into all of this DIY beauty stuff. I'll be sharing a lipstick recipe! For this project you will need a crayon... MUST BE A CRAYOLA CRAYON ...some glittery eyeshadow if you want the lipstick to shimmer, some coconut oil and some olive oil. You will also need an old chap-stick container that you can put the lipstick in.

INGREDIENTS -
-A crayola crayon of your choice
-Coconut oil or olive oil
-Glittery eyeshadow(optional)

MATERIALS-
-a small glass or ceramic bowl
- a pan
- a teaspoon
- empty container of choice

INSTRUCTIONS-
- put water in the pan(only an inch or so)
- place the glass bowl in the middle of the pan
- wait for the water to simmer
- put the crayon in the glass or ceramic bowl
- measure out a teaspoon of coconut oil or olive oil.
- stir it around until the crayon is fully melted into the oil
- carefully pour it into your container of choice
- let cool(make sure not to touch it for a few hours)
side note- don't put your cooling lipstick in the fridge because it will dry out.

BJD W.I.P.- Day Four

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I've been busy. I am in the process of making a(practice) wig, and I finished the top half of the torso.
I made a wig cap out of pantyhose and then cut up some extensions that I bought.
It's so cool that I can make her head move around on the joint.

BJD Update

This is what I have so far on her head. Tell me what you think in the comments below. Remember, she is going to look more like Hilary from Doll Chateau than a human.

Here she is!!
(sorry about the lighting. It was nighttime and I had to use flash)
The blue elastic is to keep her head cap on. I haven't come up with a way to keep it on yet(if you have any suggestions please let me know either by email or comment).

BJD Explanation

Since most of you have no idea what BJDs are, I'll explain them to you. WARNING some are really creepy, but that is just the way the owner chose to customize them. Some are really pretty though.
Mine isn't like this one. It is gonna look more like the other one.
There are lots of brands that make them.
They are pretty darn expensive though. One can cost up to 700 dollars(only crazy ppl would buy that). And they are fully customizable. You can get different wigs and change their eye color, and their makeup too. This is what they look like when you get them.
See? It's pretty blank. You can do all the customization you want. There are lots of bjd brands like Volks, Doll Chateau, Bobobie, and Leeke World.

Bye,

Bjd W.I.P.- Day Three

Ok, I've done a lot of stuff since my last post. I'll sum it up for you.
I cut the head in half where the head cap is(doll guts!).
I made eyes out of polymer clay(with a dent in the top-iris shaped) with a nail polish pupil.
I put temporary eyelashes and some eyebrows and eyeliner on her face. I still need to go to the beauty supply store to get some synthetic hair to make her wig out of. I also need to get some chalk pastels to blush her face with(Michaels is out of stock).

Hello!

Hi everyone! I'm Liya's friend, Addison. I'm currently working on my own blog but Liya asked me to add some DIY tutorials to her blog. I mostly blog about DIY crafts. I'm 19 and because I love crafting, every week I will be posting a new craft tutorial! This week, I will be doing a tutorial on a super easy hair serum. I have super curly hair and it tends to get dry in the winter, but this hair serum worked great in my hair!

This recipe is super easy, there are only six materials!

You will need:

-jojoba oil

-avocado oil

-olive oil

-vitamin E oil(optional)

-essential oil of your choice

-a pump of your choice

BJD W.I.P.- Day Two

So....... I'm almost done with the head. It is still pretty ugly, but it is as good as it is going to get. She needs sanding all over. There is still a lot of work to be done.
The head's core is made of a styrofoam ball covered in saran wrap. You can see some of it showing through in the eye sockets.
The outside is paper clay(creative paper clay).
I honestly gave up on the lips, so I just gave her an open mouth. I'll paint on the mouth when I'm doing the faceup.

Bjd W.I.P.- Day One

I made the first part of the head. It currently looks like she has a horrible case of eczema all over her head(i was too lazy to get a bowl of water, so the creative paper clay started to dry up). But so far I am happy with the face form. {-yawn-} It's late, so i'll show you a pic in the morning.

Goodnight,
Liya<3

My BJD Journey

Ok, guys. This is a very big...well, I don't know. But its a mission that I'm embarking on to make a bjd doll. Mainly because I'm too cheap to buy myself one. I was inspired by Marina Bychkova. She makes BEAUTIFUL dolls.  If you don't know what they are, I'll have a post up soon about what they are. Hopefully today or tomorrow I will have my first WIP up and posted.

See ya,
Liya
